Stiesdal SkyClean Pyrolysis Technology
The core of SkyClean is a pyrolysis process in which organic waste from agriculture and forestry is converted into biochar, gas, and oil by heating it to a high temperature in the absence of oxygen.
Runarsson and Stiesdal have worked together on the engineering, design, manufacturing, and installation of Stiesdal's pyrolysis plants. Our cooperation began with the manufacture of stainless steel heat exchangers for the 400 kW pilot plant and expanded significantly when Stiesdal built the 2 MW plant in Skive.
The combination of Runarsson's know-how within traditional combustion plants and Stiesdal's innovative technology has proven to be the foundation of a successful partnership, supported by a shared willingness to take on new challenges.
For the plant in Skive, Runarsson delivered many of the key components for the reactor unit, while Stiesdal and Runarsson jointly developed the solutions for each component. This journey continued when Stiesdal moved on to the full-scale plant, a 20 MW facility in Vraa.
The plant in Vraa has been Runarsson's largest project to date, and we have been engaged in a process of continuous improvements ever since.
